Data the app accesses
The Mac app requests Google’s selected-file permission, drive.file. The owner selects a briefing document with Google Picker. The app reads the complete text and structure of that document, its revision, and information about the file’s identity, ownership, sharing, publication status, access restrictions, and version. It can also create or use a separate private test document with sample text to check that synchronization works.
How the app uses the data
The Mac compares the selected Doc with its last verified copy and checks that only the owner has access. With publishing enabled, it writes the owner-approved portion of the local registry to the Doc and reads it back to verify the update. An unexpected document or sharing change can pause synchronization so the owner can review it.
Storage and access
The Mac connects to Google over HTTPS and stores its ongoing Google access credential in the owner’s login Keychain. The owner’s Mac keeps publication records, including the previous and replacement document text, revisions, timestamps, and checksums. Recovery copies can also reside on the owner’s backup storage. The private Google Doc resides in the owner’s Google Drive.
Google processes the selected file and authorization requests. If the owner separately connects the private briefing to ChatGPT, ChatGPT can read that briefing to prepare the owner’s report under that separate authorization. The public website serves application information only.
Limits on use
Chief of Staff Sync Stage2 does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use Google Workspace data to train, improve, or develop generalized AI or machine-learning models. Its use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google API Services User Data Policy
Retention, revocation, and deletion
Publication records are kept for review and recovery until the owner removes them. There is no automatic fixed-age purge. Backup copies can persist until the owner removes them or the backup expires under its own retention settings.
The owner can stop synchronization on the Mac and revoke the app’s grant through Google Account connections. Copies already saved in Drive, local records, backups, or separately saved ChatGPT reports persist until removed from their respective locations.
To request deletion of app-held copies, email Thomas Fassino at thomasfassino@gmail.com. Identify the account and records you want removed. Keep passwords, access codes, and private document text out of the message. The operator will review the request and explain which copies can be removed and any recovery copies that remain. The owner can also delete the Doc in Drive and manage saved reports in ChatGPT.
